Gary Rolin - Bio

Gary Rolin was born in Elizabeth, NJ and raised in Somerset, NJ. Like many other actors, he began his acting journey with the teachers who ran the High School Musicals. The teachers were Choir Director Betty DeMonic and her Husband Jim, a professional actor who is now Academic Coordinator of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. It was under their guidance that Gary's passion for performance flourished and he was eventually accepted to the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University

He left Mason Gross and continued his studies at Rutgers. His love of performing continued with his work at the college radio station, WRSU, where he and a number of friends formed the sketch comedy group Hub City Spoke Repair, where he honed his skills as a writer and vocal performer. Eventually, the group became nationally-syndicated and it was playing on college radio stations across the country.

His hard work landed him a job at computer game producer Music Pen, where Gary became a writer and staff voice talent. His efforts could be seen in both the award-winning Magic Schoolbus series as well as The Discovery Channel's Invention Studio.

After Music Pen, Gary relocated to the Atlanta area and became a stand-up comedian, performing in venues around the Southeast and occasionally at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. He was also part of a locally-produced television show LAFFS, where he wrote and performed. He also worked on a number of independent films including Descartes Error, The Chosen and Prayers from Pelham

In 2005, Gary relocated to Los Angeles and in the last few years has continued in his pursuit of an acting career. He has kept himself working by performing in a number of independent films, including the twisted Christmas story Coming to Town, which was nominated for an HBO Comedy Award as well as a cameo role on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia.

Recently, Gary has booked a flurry of projects, including the Christmas episode of iCarly, a print ad for Ubisoft's Shaun White Snowboarding video game and a commercial for Old Mutual.
